She’s on the move!! by louisehampton

This week Zara has just started to crawl, well more of a shuffle but she is getting herself across the room and she has only just turned 7 months!

The good news is I don’t have to carry and hold her so much now so that is definietly helping my back which was starting to hurt as she is getting so heavy.

Zara also seems more content as she can now reach the toys she wants to play with. I just have to watch what is on the floor as Toby has lots of little toys.

In other news last week I had an open day at my Chiropractic Clinic to raise money for Isabel Hospice a local cancer charity. We raised £236 which was great. It was lovely to see lots of friendly faces and to celebrate the clinic’s 4th birthday and surviving the recession!

Going back to work has been hard leaving the kids but it is great to have some time to be myself. The children go to a local childminder who is wonderful and on a wednesday even baths the kids and puts them to bed! Its so nice coming home to two sleeping children.

Hope everyone has a great bank holiday weekend and if you are planning on a long journey make sure you take plenty of breaks with time to stretch and walk. In the car you could do some shoulder shrugs and buttock clenches to keep the blood flowing.

My website now has a like button please go to http://www.attend2health.co.uk and like my website it would be great to get the numbers up.

Many thanks Louise

A week of Toby being ill by louisehampton

Poor Toby was ill all last week which has meant not going out and a lot more time than usual being spent on the sofa. Keeping his fluids up and just giving him calpol when needed has helped. It was just a virus so couldnt give anything for it but he has been off his food for nearly a week.

Spending so much time on the sofa has not been good for my back. Toby has needed lots of cuddles which I love to give but I realised I have not been sitting very well on the sofa so have now got myself a foot rest so that my back is pushed back into the seat more. When sitting its always best not to cross your legs or twist your pelvis as this creates a muscle in-balance and can lead to back pain.

Where have the past 4 months gone?? by louisehampton

Wow can’t believe Zara will be 4 months old next week time is just flying by. Seem to have finally cracked the bedtime routine and she now goes to sleep at 7pm every night. Just need to stop her waking at 2am and 5am now!!

Zara is growing fast and I can certainly feel it when I carry her for long periods of time. I try to make sure I carry her in front of me close to the body rather than on one of my hips otherwise it is easy to start to get back pain.

The other thing to watch is to not lift them in their car seat if at all possible as it is awkward to carry close to the body and is now getting heavy.

If you do start to experience pain why not visit a Chiropractor for a check up. If you live near Cambridge or Hertford pop into Attend 2 Health for a free consultation. We will listen to where you are getting pain and suggest solutions. Give us a call today on 01763 87 80 87 and start on the road to recovery.
